Accessible Mental Health Resources and Services in Ontario

If you are having an emergency please call 9-1-1 or an emergency service near you. If you need someone to talk to, please ensure you are safe and use one of the free and confidential crisis support lines to get in contact with a crisis responder.

This program offers the residents of Peel Region timely and quality response to de-escalate, support those in mental health and addiction crisis for all ages. A team of crisis support workers (social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists) will speak to client over the phone to assess the crisis at hand and put a plan in place to provide safety and support.

For Youth

An organization that provides professional, confidential counselling and information and referrals for mental health, addictions and well-being for young people.

Confidential, safe, non-judgemental, and anonymous space for teens to receive teen-to-teen mental health support.

The Cannabis and Mental Health Course is an online course created by youth and made for youth. It can provide knowledge related to Cannabis use, drug policies, and well-being, while making connections to other young people's experiences, to share and support young people.

An organization that provides in-person peer support groups, help accessing support, crisis resources, and self-guided resources related to mood disorders and/or psychosis.

An organization that provides information about community specific support, basic education about mental health, support and strategies to meet goals for people of all ages.

Skylark—YouthCan Impact Walk-In Clinic

A Toronto youth walk-in service for those with mental health and substance use concerns. This service is for ages 13-21. It provides the youth wiht an opprotunity to speak to counsellors to discuss concerns around depression, anxiety, bullying, sexual orientation, stress, substance use and many other topics

Provides a telephone peer support line for Muslim youth. They also host educational programs, workshops, web therapy sessions and raise awareness within the community the stigma around mental health.

Connects Black Canadian youth, their families, and their school teachers to professionals in order to address and provide support for mental health challenges with culturally relevant perspectives.

A service that provides free resources, tools, supports, self-guided help, interactive tools for young people ages 14-29.

An information guide about the mental health challenges that can occur to those involved in a vehicle accident and taking steps to learn and practice effective coping strategies for them.

For Newcomers

Different activities and support groups to help newcomers feel more at home in Canada ex. English classes, family cooking classes

A service that provides Consultation and Support in various languages for Refugees and Newcomers of all ages.
Languages Include English, Farsi, Spanish, Arabic, and Tigrigna.

Holistic approach -mental health and addiction services for racialized communities for people age 14+. Support offered in various languages.

A free private and confidential counselling service for issues related to the unique experiences of refugees and newcomers in their lives prior to arrival, during their journey to Canada.
Free appointments can be booked, but a referral is needed. If no family doctor, schedule an appointment and one will be provided.

For Post-secondary Students

The Bounce Back program is similar to that of a Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) program that offers guided mental health self-help supports for adults and youth 15 and older. An intervention for elementary school students exposed to traumatic events it is an effective school-based, group treatment to help reduce the symptoms of post-traumatic stress and anxiety.
Consists of 10 group sessions, 2-3 individal sessions, and 1-3 parent education sessions. Group sessions are 50-60 minutes and individual sessions range from 30-50 minutes.

Talk 4 Healing is a 24/7 helpline which supports and provides resources for indigenous women by indigenous women, all across Ontario.

A free online therapy tool for Ontarians ages 16+ to reduce or stop substance use (ex. tobacco, alcohol and drugs).

A mental health and addiction counselling service for youth who are struggling with mental health, sexual identity, relationships and other concerns. This program is also availble for concerned parents

Drop in Youth Program which provides substance use counselling, mental health counsellling, crisis intervention, breakfast, lunch and many other opportunities for individuals ages 16-24.

An organization that with a service that provides immediate mental health counselling and crisis intervention for all Indigenous people across canada in several indigenous languages. Helps with finding other wellness support systems available for someone in distress, or experiencing any challanges and issues big or small.

A service that provides various mental health and well-being educational resources for post-secondary students, a search engine for information about on and off campus mental health services at Ontario post-secondary institutions, and a free confidential chatline counselling service to talk about stressful experiences such as anxiety, loneliness, relationships, substance use, and discrimination.
